FYI

My son had a program he wanted to download to his computer and after his father spending hours and losing his temper he declared it couldn't be done. Mumbling about it being out of date and something or other about not enough RAM.

Now my Zach is ever the optimist and after searching in forums and for links to tutorials he had the program installed in about ten minutes.

What can you say?  Not a lot actually.

In a separate incident just this week, Zach wanted to download FRAPS. (frames per second) great little tool to record video of games and give tutorials on the computer. The actual application costs about 37 dollars and is quite impressive but he found a demo version for free and asked for permission to download. I agreed and asked him to show me one of his videos when he got it done.

Later after showing me a few shorts of video. I ask if he has to leave the program running and minimize it while playing his game so he can turn it on and off that way. He says no I rigged it up so all I have to do is push F9 to record or pause. All of this was said as if he was teaching me to tie my shoes.

What can you do? What can you say?  I just turned and left before I lost anymore of my dignity.

Tear Down That Wall!

Do you feel like you are headed in different directions?  Each looking toward different things and you find a wall has sprung up between you?  .............

The cure?

Be silly!

Find humor where you can get it!

Laughter can tear down that wall!

(Hope you weren't looking for some heartfelt post.  I just couldn't resist!  That picture was priceless to me!)

Twins!

Say hello to my twins.  They were busy this last week and so was I.  They cooked chicken while I browned ground beef and sausage and made pie crusts and cooked up carrots.  I was stocking my freezer back up.  I cooked the carrots to keep them from going bad.  Also had to hurry and use up blueberries, so cooked them and made cobbler.  Yum!

Hope all the Dad's had a great Father's Day.  We stayed home, as requested by the hubby,  and let him reload on his special day.

Wishing you a fab day!! Until next time....Kristi.

Neil Patrick Harris and Hugh Jackman duet at 2011 Tony Awards

You know me, I love Broadway, show tunes, and big band.  Yeah, I'm kinda lame that way.  But you throw Hugh Jackman in the mix and I go fanatical!
Have a great weekend!

(How I'd Like) To Kill A Mockingbird

For the last couple of weeks my lack of sleep has suffered even more thanks to a mockingbird.  He starts in the same time every night and ends around the same time.  I have tried to come up with solutions but none really seem plausible.  I've even entertained ideas of firing rocket launchers with the end result being that of Princess Fiona's bird after singing to it-just a pair of sizzling feet and a few feathers.

So while laying there last night staring up at the ceiling, having given up on one website's suggestion to let the song lull you to sleep, I go online and search for the reason this is happening.

Only bachelor mockingbirds sing.  The nightly singing is a love song, a serenade to lure a mate and once having found a mate the nightly singing stops.  My first thought was...umm hmm, typical male.  But anyway my next thought was this being mother nature's show it shouldn't be long before it ends.  But then thinking on how much time has already passed, I've come to the conclusion: we are short on single lady mockingbirds or we have one unattractive bird!  Of course my mind doesn't stop there and it takes the scenic route, gets lost a few times, but finally makes the full circle.  The reason for this being....he's singing at night and not getting his beauty rest!

And sadly neither am I!

Me and this bird may be together for a long time!

My Oh My!

It was just a tough week for politicians last week wasn't it?  First up Mrs S., we'll call her, and her fine rendition of history.  But in all fairness we can't blame her solely for this.  I mean we should have learned our lesson the first time around.  When she speaks we cease to listen.  What's that old saying?  Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice.........

And then there was Congressman Weiner and his weiner.  Need I say more?  Don't even want to touch that and I do mean literally.  But it did bring to mind an old song......but you know me, I have to put my own twist on it.

Oh I wish I was a congressman's weiner
For that is what I'd truly like to be
For if I was a congressman's weiner
Then all of twitter would be in love with me!

(can substitute "then all the tweeters would be in love with me")

All God's Creatures Great and Small

I have always felt that dogs can see straight through to your soul.  Their eyes hold so much knowing in them.  They have such a sixth sense.  I personally believe that our Buddy saved me.  He knew what I needed when I didn't.

A couple of months ago, Boy, sometimes pronounced bow-wee, adopted us. I say that because we didn't go somewhere and pick him. He picked us. And now after time has passed I realize what an honor that was. This dog has endured more than any one dog should. His eyes reflect several lifetimes lived. He's been abused. His back was severely injured at one time and I don't think it was from an automobile. I've studied him and his behavior and I think it was from being badly beaten maybe as a pup. He is so untrusting of anyone or anything. It's taken months of coaxing to finally be able to pet him. That's why I say it's humbling that he has chosen us to trust. He is a very smart dog and very bright. I want him to know what love feels like. I want him to know that not everyone in the world is cruel. That there are those out there that appreciate God's creations.

Swimming

We are thinking of doing commercials for cruise ships!

LOL!

These were taken using the camera we got him for Christmas. They lost some of their quality uploading but on the computer and dvd they are very vivid! Really impressed with this little Kodak Sport.
